ONE Gas reports first-quarter income
ONE Gas, the company that distributes retail natural gas to customers in Oklahoma, Kansas and parts of Texas, reported Monday it earned a first-quarter net income of $93.7 million, or $1.76 per share.
The company’s operating income during the first quarter of 2019 was nearly $128 million, compared to $130 million during the same quarter in 2018. ONE Gas’ net income the first quarter of 2018 was $90.8 million.
Its net margin for the quarter, which reflects its total revenues after natural gas costs are deducted, increased by $7.9 million in the first quarter in a year-over-year comparison. Revenue improved to $661 million, up from $639 million in the first quarter of 2018.
“Our first quarter results were supported by new rates, colder weather and customer growth,” ONE Gas CEO Pierce H. Norton II said. “We continue to focus on successful execution of our capital plan, which includes significant investments in safety and reliability, and on efficient operations.”
NBC Oklahoma names directors
Banking company NBC Oklahoma has appointed three new members to its board and said good-bye as long-time director Phil Carson of Altus stepped down. New board members are Oklahoma City attorneys Michael Crooks and Mike Bickford and Bond Payne, chairman of Heritage Trust Co. and vice chairman of Argent Financial Group.
Crooks, co-founder of Crooks Stanford & Shoop law firm, is a transactional attorney and entrepreneur who also is a founder in four successful start-up businesses. He is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University and the University of Oklahoma College of Law.
