
KALAMAZOO, MI — The marijuana chain Herbology has continued its expansion in Michigan with a new location in Kalamazoo.
Herbology is part of the larger company Grassroots Cannabis which grows, processes and sells marijuana. The chain has locations in 11 states.
The new 5,320 square-foot provisioning center, located at 1986 S. Sprinkle Road, celebrated its grand opening on Thursday, Jan. 1. The space includes one waiting room, one consultation room and 11 point of sale stations.
Kalamazoo’s new center will be the company’s fourth in Michigan, joining provisioning centers in Ann Arbor, Battle Creek and Bangor.
The city of Kalamazoo has yet to opt-in to recreational marijuana business. Kalamazoo Township became the first municipality in the county to opt-in on Jan. 27.
Although Ann Arbor, Battle Creek and Bangor have all opted-in to allow recreational business.
The new dispensary in Kalamazoo currently serves only medical clientele, but has “every intention” of expanding into recreational marijuana products in the future, according to previous statements from Talley Wettlaufer, vice president and head of retail for Grassroots Cannabis, Herbology’s parent company.
In Kalamazoo, Herbology’s hours of operation are 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sunday.
