World Cup winning duo Andre Schurrle and Mario Gotze are set to enter a ‘joint’ (cough cough) business venture with Will.i.am by investing in marijuana.
According to German newspaper Bild, the former international teammates will link up with Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.am to work closely with the rapidly-growing Sanity Group.
It’s understood the Berlin-based company grows cannabis purely for medicinal purposes – and former Chelsea forward Schurrle wants a piece of the pie after hanging up the boots at just 30.
28-year-old Gotze, who plies his trade for PSV Eindhoven in Holland nowadays, is reportedly keen on investing too.
The German football pair have reportedly held initial talks with Sanity Group chief Finn Age Hansel about being ambassadors for the brand.
But they’re not the only high-profile names interested in the cannabis company.
Famous musician Will.i.am (random, right?) headlines the growing list of sports, music, television and film stars who have shown interest in the marijuana manufacturers.

“Cannabis can help people. We need cannabis for humans and medicine,” Hansel told Bild back in 2019.
“We advocate the free availability of CBD, as the WHO (World Health Organisation) recommends, and want an open, social debate about the benefits of cannabis with the aim of more liberal legislation.”
And with around 22 million euros already in the bank from investors, Sanity Group are already on their way to being the leaders in cannabis growth.
