TRENTON, NJ – A company with a Camden County location was one of seven alternative treatment centers that received tentative approval from the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission to sell recreational cannabis, the commission said in a press release.

The decision means if Curaleaf – which has a location on Creek Road in Bellmawr according to a state website that lists cannabis dispensary locations – passes an operational inspection and is issued a new license, will be allowed to cultivate cannabis, manufacture products that contain cannabis, and conduct retail sales to the general public in 13 dispensaries across the state, the press release said.

Patient access and public safety must be the utmost concern of companies like Curaleaf, Dianna Houenou, chair of the state’s Cannabis Regulatory Commission, said in the press release.

“These approvals were given based on commitments from the [alternative treatment centers] that we would not see adverse effects with expansion,” she said. “Expansion into the adult-use market – with a substantial advantageous start ahead of new applicants – is a privilege that must not be taken lightly. We expect these [alternative treatment centers] to uphold their promises to patients and communities and that recreational customers will be adequately served.

Curaleaf also has a location along U.S. Route 130 in Bordentown, according to a state database. Other companies that received approval like Curaleaf include Columbia Care of Vineland.
