Should you or someone you know be featured in our series? Fill out this form and we may publish your story.

What is your position and what do you/your company do in the cannabis space?

I am the founder of The Greenery Spot, which is a legal New York State recreational retail dispensary located in Johnson City.

How long have you worked in the cannabis space?

I’ve been a member of the legacy community for 20 years.

What did you do before you were involved in the cannabis industry?

I worked in and managed a local pizzeria named Rossi’s pizza located on the north side of Endicott, New York. I’ve worked 5-6 days a week since I was 17 years old.

What led you to the cannabis industry?

I just honestly love this plant and all the positive aspects it offers. There are so many benefits from a medical standpoint, and it’s just amazing to me that cannabis is simply a plant that comes from soil.

Do you have any advice for someone looking to get into the NY weed industry?

Really educate yourself on every part of the industry. Surround yourself with a great team of advisors, cannabis accountants, security experts, cannabis attorneys, insurance representatives, bank representatives and an experienced design and fabrications group. It really helps to create this family of professionals that can come together to help you mold your business ideas into a compliant and successful operation.

What do you think the NY cannabis ecosystem will look like in five years?

I hope New Yorkers will be more educated on cannabis. Also, as long as our tax structure and regulations are more concrete, we should have a lot more retail stores throughout the state. Then the cultivators will have more outlets to distribute their crop and products through — meaning there will be a healthier supply chain and more successful cannabis businesses.

Do you use cannabis? If so, what’s your favorite method (flower, dabs, edibles, tinctures, etc.), and why?

I’ve always been a fan of flower. The whole process of breaking it up, stuffing/rolling, and sparking it is very satisfying. And I love how cannabis brings people together while smoking a joint/blunt, Puff Puff Pass.

Who should contact you, and what’s the best method (i.e. email, phone number, LinkedIn handle, etc.)
