State regulators were granted a preliminary injunction on Aug. 15 to shut down — at least temporarily — Sawmill Sweetleaf, which is accused of several compliance issues.

A state district judge on Tuesday granted a preliminary injunction against Sawmill Sweetleaf LLC, a move that now forces the Albuquerque-based cannabis operator to cease operations — at least temporarily.

The preliminary injunction, issued by Judge Elaine Lujan of the 2nd Judicial District Court, means the cannabis company can no longer operate under any of its licenses issued by the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Department until a formal hearing with the department takes place.
